The mind that says, ‘I don’t know,’ and is waiting for an answer, expectant, is one thing. Then there is the mind that says, ‘I don’t know,’ and because there is no answer, it is in a state of non-expectancy, observing. It is not even observing; it is quiet, silent, saying, ‘I really don’t know.’ Isn’t that the only state in which you can learn?
