Each one creates for himself an image, or an image is imposed on us by society or the Church. By a series of incidents and accidents, you create an image, and the image becomes all-important because it gives you a sense of reality and security. You cling to that. That image is a structure of words and memories, which is nothing at all. A married man creates an image of his wife, and the wife creates an image about him. These two images have a relationship, not the human beings. You think you are an American and you have an image as an American, or British, or Indian, and all the rest of it. These images are the cause of separatism. Where there is separateness, there must be struggle, conflict and misery.
