We are all conformists; we conform very easily. Those who are in revolt against society are conformists – they reject one form of conformity and accept another. They reject authority outside and accept inward authority. Where there is authority there must be conformity, and therefore there is no freedom. Freedom exists only when we understand the whole structure and nature of ourselves. Without freedom, there is no creation, no life, no beauty. So freedom is absolutely essential.
