Friendship implies having great trust in another. That trust implies a certain quality of affection, both outwardly and inwardly. One trusts a banker if they are an honest banker; one trusts a good golfer because they are going to teach you how to play golf. One hopes that the educator will give you the correct information and knowledge, not biased and so on. But you don’t necessarily trust the politician. So, you have these different varieties of trust. But in friendship, the major factor is to have complete trust in another. Trust implies confidence, confidence in another; confidence not diluted or dishonest, convenient or shallow dishonesty. Rather it is honest, and there is a sense of non-verbal communication in which there is trust.
