We are not rejecting authority; we are not saying authority is right or wrong, good or bad; we are trying to learn about authority. When you learn, you are free of it. Question yourself why you accept authority. Why do you follow? Why are you listening to the speaker, so quietly? Have you set the speaker as an authority and are therefore hoping to get something out of that? Or are you listening to find out what truth is and what falsehood is? The speaker may be speaking a falsehood, or he may not be conveying what is true, but if you accept him as authority, you have ceased to learn. So what is important is not what the speaker says or doesn’t say but how you listen to him, whether you are actually learning.
