Thought For Today 18 Janurary 2023, J Krishnamurti

I may talk about love and responsibility, but as long as I am self-centred I must act in a narrow, limited way. Is it possible, living in this world, not to be self-centred? This means, do I realise the consequences, do I observe the activities of self-centredness? Observing doesn’t mean a great brain – I just observe what I do, how I hate people, how I get angry easily, how I wound people. I can observe all that and inquire into why am I violent. What is violence? Conformity, imitation, and so on. It is a very complex problem, violence. So I observe it and through pure observation, the thing comes to an end.
