We go through a certain experience, for a minute, a day or a year. As we sustain it, go through it and it leaves certain sediment. The sediment is memory. The mind operates as a sieve through which the experience goes and leaves sediment as memory. With that memory or residue, the next experience is met. So each experience, however wide, however deep, however full of potential, however interesting or vital, only strengthens the limitations and memories of sediment.
