Is it possible to act without idea? That is, to live so completely in the present. To live in the present means to die to the past and so give your complete attention to the present, wholly. This demands not only the awareness of all conscious movements of the brain but also the unconscious movements. Which is to be aware of the unconscious as well as the conscious, not according to an idea or a formula but to be simply aware without interpretation, and thereby live so totally in the present that action is not an approximation to an idea but is immediate.
